Okunoshima, Japan is a place that you should definitely visit at least once in your lifetime.
It’s better known by its nickname – “Bunny Island” because it’s inhabited by thousands of wild rabbits. Recently, a couple decided to go hiking on Okunoshima and came home with many mementos of the trip. I am unbelievably jealous right now
The couple was traveling through Japan when they decided to stop at Ōkunoshima.
There are picnic sites and hiking trails frequented by travelers, but the real attraction is the rabbit population.
The rabbits were released after the war when the experimentation ended.
Naturally, their population exploded without natural predators and 70 years later, they rule the island
