Mitchell was rushed to a hospital around 2:30 p.m., TMZ first reported.

When asked about Mitchell Tuesday evening, the Los Angeles Fire Department told BuzzFeed News paramedics transported a woman from the 600 block of Funchal Road in the city's Bel Air neighborhood. The woman was in fair condition, meaning she would have been conscious while en route.

TMZ reported that Mitchell was alert while being transported, but that paramedics had responded to a call of an unconscious woman. Mitchell was in intensive care Tuesday night, the site said.

Representatives for Mitchell did not respond to BuzzFeed News' requests for comment Tuesday.

A Twitter account for JoniMitchell.com announced the hospitalization, though the site also claims that Mitchell has no “involvement whatsoever” in its “content and financial decisions.”

Originally hailing from western Canada, Mitchell eventually moved to the U.S. and ultimately settled in L.A. In 1970, she wrote “Woodstock” about the eponymous festival that took place a year earlier.
