Zack Mclaughlin is a London-based illustrator…well, at least that’s what he calls himself. While he does create stunning illustrations for children’s books and other commissioned works, some of his most captivating pieces fly right off the page, or, quite literally, from the page. About two years ago, Mclaughlin was writing and illustrating a book about a little boy who made his own paper bird lantern to escape an evil monster, but he couldn’t picture what such a thing would look like. So he constructed one himself to get the right feeling.
